Polish cable operators issue complaint

A group of 16 small Polish cable operators have jointly protested against the actions of a number of TV broadcasters.

According to Wirtualne Media, they say they have watched with increasing alarm as these broadcasters have forced them into agreements to take programme packages.

In addition, they have increased the cost of their channels without guaranteeing their quality and also shown favouritism towards larger operators.

The 16 operators have threatened to withdraw from some agreements and also possibly refer the actions of the TV broadcasters to the competition authority UOKiK.
